Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church is committed to safe and authentic exploration of faith and life in exciting, fun, and creative ways.
All 6 - 12th graders are welcome as we try to understand and respond to God’s work in our lives. We are passionate about worship, music, service, education, small groups, fellowship, mission, and educational trips. If you’ve never been to a youth event, give it a try. Yesterday was a glorious Youth and Confirmation Sunday! We are so thankful for each of you who participated. It was a great day, go the FPCYOUTHRVA Instagram account to see some snapshots from yesterday's events.
Now...the main event....drumroll please....the Summer Events Schedule!
June 17-Dad's Derby Summer Kickoff Kickball Tournament: 11:00 a.m. (following 10:00 summer worship) at the Mary Munford fields. Lunch provided! We will play kickball with our dads, welcome the new 6th grade students, and kickoff the summer activities. More details coming this week!
June 27-King's Dominion Epic Night: Volunteer at VBS in the morning, go to King's Dominion in the afternoon and evening, then begin the quest for the best cheeseburger in RVA, four square and grog. All your Epic Night favorites in the summer! More details coming in early June!
July 11-Service Day at a local cemetery: Come help clean up one of our local cemeteries then continue our search for the best cheeseburger in RVA. Service hours available! More details coming in late June.
July 25-Farm Day in Harrisonburg,VA: Come with us to Harrisonburg for a day of organic farming, learning about the Shenandoah Mountains, and a fun day digging in the dirt. We will then head back to RVA to continue the search for the best cheeseburger in RVA. Service hours available! More details coming in early July.
August 1-Beach Day: We will head down to Virginia Beach and go to the aquarium, spend some time soaking up the sun on the beach, and have an awesome relaxing day by the water. More details coming in mid July.
August 8-Afternoon at the Virginia Holocaust Museum: Come with us to explore this fascinating museum, have a personalized tour, and reflect on the ways violence towards one another is as prevalent today as it was many years ago. We will continue our quest for the best cheeseburger in RVA before heading to the museum. More details coming in late July.
August 15-Family Night at the Richmond Flying Squirrels: Youth and their families are invited to the Richmond Flying Squirrels game during this week! More details coming in July.
You will sign up for these programs when the email information goes out for each event. Time, further details, and cost will be announced then. We can't wait to hang out this summer with you! It's going to be an awesome time to bond with our Youth Ministry family, eat a lot of fabulous cheeseburgers, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
