Give

Why We Give

At FPC, our core values are to be grounded, growing, and generous disciples of Jesus. Generosity can take many forms and is certainly not limited to the church, but giving a portion of our financial resources to the church does two things. First, it acknowledges that what we have does not belong to us; it came from God and belongs to God already. In this way, giving helps us keep perspective in a world that tells us that our value comes from our possessions and accomplishments. Second, giving generously is a way to imitate the generosity of God, who relentlessly pursues us with God’s compassion, love, and grace. How much we give doesn’t matter, but Jesus promises that a regular, intentional sacrifice of generous giving can be a source of deep joy and satisfaction. Thank you for all the ways you give!

Give Online with Realm

You can now set up a recurring gift using our new online ministry tool, Realm. Though you do not need a Realm login to give, if you are a member of FPC, it is encouraged that you first create a Realm login. This will enable you to monitor your pledge/giving directly from your account. If you are a member of FPC and have not received an email invitation to create a login for Realm, please send your request to FPC’s Realm Support. Once you have created your Realm login, visit onrealm.org/fpcrichmond to sign in to your account. You can set up a one-time gift or recurring gift directly from your profile. Click here to watch a video tutorial to guide you through that process. For more information on FPC’s ministry tool Realm, click here.

Endowment Fund

The First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund provides an important supplement to our annual stewardship effort and is designed to address special needs of FPC as they may arise.

The Endowment Fund provides a means for members to make a permanent gift to First Presbyterian Church, with the income being available annually to support the work of FPC on a perpetual basis. Gifts may be directed to the Endowment Fund with or without designation, or to any of the following funds.

  • General Fund is utilized as directed by the Session.
  • Horace A. Gray Fund income is distributed to the church annually for operational support.
  • Llewellyn P. McCord Fund, established in memory of our beloved former assistant pastor, "Mac" McCord, is designated for the support of FPC youth activities.
  • B. Richard Hill/Donald P. Whitley Fund and David F. Peters Fund were established by families and friends of the deceased to provide supplemental annual funding for local benevolent outreach programs as selected by the Mission Outreach Committee.
  • Memorial Garden Fund provides maintenance for the memorial garden.
  • Making a gift to the Endowment Fund, even in a formal "planned giving" manner, is not just for those who have wealth or special financial expertise, but for anyone who with a generous spirit wants to make a gift while they are living or through a bequest under their will or that otherwise would take effect upon their death.

Memorial Fund

The general memorial fund receives gifts in memory of those who have died. Family members and friends may give a gift in honor of a loved one. The church uses these gifts for special projects. Inquiries about making a gift in memory of someone may be directed to Kendra Crabtree at 358-2383 ext. 122.

Music Memorial Fund

This fund supports the music ministry of First Presbyterian Church for events and productions that require special instrumentalists, staging, rentals and props that exceed the funds available in the annual operating budget. Jason N. Brown, our Minister of Music and Arts, will be happy to provide additional information about the music memorial fund. He may be reached by email or at 358-2383 ext. 121.

The First Fund is FPC's dedicated fund for planned gifts. Such gifts are a proven strategy for anyone with a generous spirit who wants to make a gift while they are living or through a bequest under their will or that would otherwise take effect upon their death.
