About Jeremy

I’ve been all over the place, but Central Virginia has always been home to me, and I’d love to always call this region home. I grew up in the Baptist Church, and still hold many close ties to the Baptist world and those relationships. I discovered my calling into ministry while studying at James Madison University (Go Dukes!) and am currently enrolled at BSK Theological Seminary, pursuing my Master's of Divinity. I live here in Richmond with my wife Virginia and our daughter Eliza. I’m a huge Philadelphia sports fan, and on most Saturdays during the summer, we are at a racetrack somewhere in Virginia.

I love the Church and am passionate about the ways that we can impact the world around us. Whether we are combating injustices, prejudices, or anything else in the world around us that go against God’s design, the Church has a mission to fulfill, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to be involved in that mission. Our youth and children are not just the “future” of the Church, and I’ve never been fond of that saying. Our youth and children are active participants and leaders now, and I want to ensure that they have every opportunity to engage with them in Church and encourage them to go change the world.

Leadership

Elders are charged with the oversight of the life of our congregation – leading, governing, and caring for its members.  Both individually and collectively (as the Session), elders provide leadership in worship, teaching, mission, evangelism, care and nurture.  Along with the pastors, the elders are the shepherds of the flock.

Deacons are charged with the sympathy, witness and service for all our members. Deacons are persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies and sound judgment. Both individually and collectively (as the Diaconate), deacons provide compassionate care for all church members.
