About Carolyn

I grew up in Richmond. I am the youngest girl of 8 children. I grew up attending Mount Herman Baptist, was baptized, and participated in the children’s choir and youth program. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1985.  After high school I took various business courses. I attended J Sargeant Reynolds Community College to study Business Administration.  In 1990, I married my high school sweetheart, Mark Wright. We have two adult kids, Mark Jr., a mechanical/electrical engineer and Marcara, a college student.

I worked at Kemper National Insurance Companies from 1990-1998, as the Branch Coordinator.  I also worked at Circuit City Stores, Inc. from 1998 - 2009. At Circuit City, I coordinated a Boys & Girls Club outreach team for Christmas.  I joined First Pres as Bookkeeper 2009.  I have worked with the Emergency Assistance Program through the church for many years.  My family has been an integral part of Feed More.  I love hosting my family and friends for holidays or any special gathering.

Leadership

Elders are charged with the oversight of the life of our congregation – leading, governing, and caring for its members.  Both individually and collectively (as the Session), elders provide leadership in worship, teaching, mission, evangelism, care and nurture.  Along with the pastors, the elders are the shepherds of the flock.

Deacons are charged with the sympathy, witness and service for all our members. Deacons are persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies and sound judgment. Both individually and collectively (as the Diaconate), deacons provide compassionate care for all church members.
