About Kendra
I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN where I grew up in the same house, with the same family (my mom, dad, and older brother), went to the same church, and had the same friends for roughly 18 years. So even though I didn’t move too far away to go to college at Belmont University in Nashville, TN the newness and distance was just enough to get bit by the travel bug.
After graduating from Belmont with a degree in Music Education I moved to Cape Town, South Africa where I worked with a local non-profit in developing kids’ and teens’ curricula for ongoing programs in the surrounding areas and was on the leadership team for a church plant where I invested in the youth of the church through small groups and music. I moved back to the States to attend The Portland Seminary where I got a Masters in Spiritual Formation in 2014. Before coming to FPC I was on staff at Blacksburg Presbyterian Church as the Director of Communications and Church Life.
It is a combination of my passion for clear organization, my big picture mindset, and my desire to see connections and relationships form within a faith community that drives my enthusiasm for communicating well to the church the opportunities for inspiration, nurture, and service.
