Going Deeper: A Call to Follow Christ

2016 Sermon Series

The disciples had fished all night and caught nothing. When Jesus got into their boat he asked them to put out into deeper water and let down their nets for a catch. They caught so many fish their nets began to break. (Luke 5:1-11)

There are many ways to “fish all night and catch nothing.”  It happens in marriages.  It happens with careers. It can happen in relationships with children, siblings and parents. It happens in confronting racism, classism, poverty, injustice and crime. Try as you may, you cannot fix it. Christ came into the world to reclaim us, to empower us, to call us to follow him. God is at work in the world!
