Church Hill Activities & Tutoring

September 2 First Sunday Loose Offerings Program

This Sunday's Loose Offerings donations will benefit Church Hill Activities and Tutoring (CHAT), whose mission is to serve the youth of East End Richmond and equip them with the heart, head, and hands to make transformative life decisions.

CHAT began in the Church Hill home of founders Percy and Angie Strickland, when they opened their home to neighbors for fellowship and food. Over time, relationships formed, and the children grew comfortable asking for help with homework.

More volunteers joined in, building authentic, caring relationships. They believe in this work because: 1) every person is created in the image of God and therefore valuable, 2) poverty is a destructive force, especially for children, and 3) they are hopeful for a Gospel flourishing future.

Their programs include Church Hill Academy(Grades 9-12 high school), After School Programs (tutoring, enrichment, and mentoring for K-12 students), Tiny Tykes Preschool (preschool and Kindergarten programs), and a Work Leadership Institute(workforce development program for teens).

Your offering will help fund these 'hands on' programs that serve children and youth in our community. Thank you for considering supporting this worthy mission.
