The January 21 Richmond Forum hosted two leading American presidential historians, Jon Meacham and Doris Kearns Goodwin. It was a fascinating conversation, moderated by Steve Inskeep of NPR. The discussion covered many of the things that are currently dividing us as a nation, as a world community. Then the question was asked, "What are the things that unite us?" Jon Meacham replied; "The things that unite us are the things that we love, and we love too few things."
We will celebrate Holy Communion this Sunday in the midst of a nation that is divided by many things. It is the things that we love that unite us. Sunday's sermon will lift up those things as we are invited by God's grace to the Table of forgiveness and reconciliation. Plan to join us and bring someone with you!
See you Sunday.
Thanks for listening,
